The collection should be surveyed with the destination in mind. A vehicle that can access the first property may not suit the second, and a delivery to a city flat is different from unloading at a rural house. Photos, measurements and honest information about both addresses make the quotation and schedule more dependable.

Loading order matters over distance. Items needed first should not disappear behind goods intended for another room, while furniture and boxes need securing for many hours on the road rather than a short local journey.

Why realistic dates matter

Customers can underestimate how quickly good removal slots disappear, especially in summer. Booking late can restrict the available vehicle and crew. Key-release delays can also affect departure, so same-day completion and a distant delivery may require a different plan from the one first imagined.

Before Hampson & Mealey began in November 2022, the founder spent six years in transport. The removals business started with a small personal van and a first paid £40 move into supported accommodation. Larger vans were hired to test demand before vehicles were purchased and trucks hired for major moves.

That transport-first background is visible in route planning, vehicle sizing and load security. It is practical experience rather than a generic claim about being established for decades.
