Reusable mattress bags

Mattresses can mark easily during a move, so we use reusable mattress protection bags rather than leaving them exposed.

Thick transit blankets

Furniture is covered with heavy-duty transit blankets and loaded securely to reduce rubbing, knocks and movement in the vehicle.

Carpet and floor care

Where required, we use carpet roll protectors and plan the route through the property before lifting starts.

Packing and wrapping

Renovation projects create more disruption than many homeowners expect. Rooms are cleared, trades need access and dust travels beyond the immediate work area. Moving furniture and possessions into a private container can make the property safer and easier to work in.

The storage period should remain flexible because building schedules change. Customers regularly discover that a project or follow-on decorating work lasts longer than the original estimate.

What is worth removing from the property

Furniture, soft furnishings, boxed possessions, seasonal items and equipment can all benefit from being outside the work zone. Items must be clean and dry before storage, with suitable packing for the expected duration.

Flammables, dangerous goods and wet materials are not accepted. Contractors’ hazardous products should remain under their own controlled arrangements.

Collection and return after the work

Hampson & Mealey can collect from the property, store the agreed goods and return them when rooms are ready. This avoids hiring a vehicle and handling the same furniture through several suppliers.

If work is phased, deliveries can also be discussed in stages rather than returning everything at once.
