Not every move is a straightforward carry through the front door. Some properties have tight staircases, narrow turns, upper-floor flats, balconies, awkward office access or furniture that was assembled in a room and never expected to leave easily.

Access changes the whole job

The item may not be the heaviest part of the move. The access can be the real issue. Sofas, sofa beds, wardrobes, commercial desks, appliances and large furniture can all become difficult when turns are tight or stairs are narrow.

On some jobs, specialist access equipment such as a lift platform may be considered if it is safer and more practical than forcing an item through unsuitable access.

Survey before guessing

This is exactly why accurate surveys matter. A customer may describe the furniture correctly, but if the access has not been considered, the quote and plan can be wrong. The best time to solve access problems is before moving day, not when the team is standing at the stairs.

When specialist help makes sense

Balcony access, upper-floor commercial premises, large items, awkward buildings and restricted access all need proper thought. We do not pretend every job needs specialist equipment, but we do believe the right approach is better than brute force.
